The house was originally a hunting lodge, built by The Albright family in the early 1700s. As the family became more successful they built Wollaston Lodge and acquired over 1000 acres as a gentleman’s playground.
House & Buildings Floorplan
Wollaston is a traditional Victorian Rectory style house. All of our suites are south facing and en suite. Everything was totally refurbished in 2012 so that a luxurious stay is guaranteed. Each bedroom has comfortable seating areas with flat screen tvs, ipod docking stations and free wifi. The orangery is a great place to take breakfast.
The Orangery looks out over the terraces and onto the Italianate gardens. The gardens were designed by us in the late 1990s and are now completely mature. Please enjoy the gardens, there are many areas to sit and take in the views, read a book or have a glass and contemplate.
Wollaston Lodge is positioned to be totally south facing and enjoying the morning sun. It’s elevated position allows breathtaking views across the valley to Long Mountain. All the suites look out over the Italianate gardens built by the present owners to the views beyond.

The house is an ideal place to relax, but many visitors like to take advantage of our tennis court, hot tub and yoga suite. There are some great walks in the countrside surrounding us too.
